D-Mannose benefits, side effects, cautions, and related iHerb product search in one page.

D-mannose is searched with urinary wellness, cranberry combinations, women’s wellness, and powder-versus-capsule products.
Community experiences
Selected positive personal experiences from external communities, edited and summarized. These accounts do not establish effectiveness.
A contributor who routinely performed self-catheterization wrote that they had no urinary tract infections for more than a year while using D-mannose capsules. They also reported abdominal pain, bloating and itchy skin, as well as nightmares after taking a larger number of capsules at once before bed. The infection-free period was self-reported, with no test results or details of other care, so this account does not establish a preventive effect or constitute a recommendation to take it.
Experience shared by external community contributor A
A contributor with recurring urinary discomfort wrote that they felt more comfortable within a day of using D-mannose powder mixed with water and were still feeling well in the second week. They had also taken nitrofurantoin initially and used probiotics; at the time of the review, they said they had been off the antibiotic for a week. The contribution of these other products and whether an infection had cleared were not verified, and the dose units were unclear. This is not a basis for replacing or stopping antibiotics.

UTI prevention evidence and product labels
A 2024 randomized trial in 598 women with recurrent urinary tract infections found no significant reduction in medically attended UTIs with D-mannose versus placebo over six months. This was a prevention trial, not evidence that D-mannose treats an infection.
Compare D-mannose grams or milligrams, serving size and the individual amounts of added ingredients such as cranberry. A total urinary-health blend weight does not establish the D-mannose amount. Do not substitute supplements for medical assessment of symptoms.
What is D-Mannose?
D-mannose is a simple sugar sold in powder and capsule supplements. It is a different ingredient from cranberry, even when they are combined in urinary-health products.
On Supplecipe, you can search iHerb products that mention D-Mannose and compare single-ingredient products against broader supplement blends.
Why people search D-Mannose
- People compare serving size across powder and capsule products.
- It is often paired with cranberry or probiotics.
- Standalone products are easier to compare for dose.
Forms and other names
D-Mannose may also appear on labels as Mannose. Searching by both the common name and label name can reveal more products.
